What We Believe

At Christ Temple Church Grand Rapids, our faith is built on God’s Word and the power of His Spirit. We seek His presence in all we do, letting His truth guide our worship, our service, and our daily walk with Christ.

About the Bible

We believe the Bible (KJV) is the inspired and infallible Word of God, written by men who were moved by the Holy Ghost and faithfully preserved through time. It stands as the eternal truth, unchanging and alive, guiding our lives and revealing God’s plan for humanity.

Scripture References: 2 Peter 1:21, Psalm 68:11, Jeremiah 36, Mark 13:31, Psalm 119:89, Ecclesiastes 3:14, 2 Timothy 3:16

About God

There is one God — known in the Old Testament as Jehovah and revealed in the New Testament as Jesus. In Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. We believe in the virgin birth and in Jesus Christ as both fully divine and fully human — the Everlasting God manifested in flesh.

Scripture References: Deuteronomy 6:4, Colossians 2:9, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, John 10:30

About Jesus

Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sent His Spirit — the Holy Ghost — to dwell within believers. The same Spirit that filled the Upper Room still fills the hearts of all who diligently seek Him today.

Scripture References: Hebrews 4:15, John 14:26, Acts 2:4–7, Acts 2:39

About the New Birth

We believe that new birth comes through repentance, water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. The evidence of this infilling is speaking in tongues, as the Spirit of God gives utterance.

Scripture References: John 3:5, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:44–45, Acts 19:1–6

About the Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return at any time to catch away His Church — those who have separated themselves to live holy and sanctified lives before Him.

Scripture Reference: 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17

The Way We Worship

We believe God is worthy of our praise — both verbal and physical. Our worship is joyful, expressive, and Spirit-led, reflecting gratitude for who He is and all He has done. We celebrate our salvation with thanksgiving, prayer, and praise as we lift up His holy name.

Scripture References: Psalm 47:1, Psalm 149:3, Psalm 134:2, Isaiah 12:5–6, Acts 2:15–16
